Regents Imaging in Oceanside offers the latest in MRI and computed tomography (CT) scanning technology. A CT scanner can scan the entire body in seconds and is able to perform a wide variety of studies, including coronary CT angiography, coronary calcium scores, 3-D studies, colonography and all diagnostic CT tests. Dr. Gregory Nicpon is CT director and has extensive experience with both MRI and CT.

The San Diego Cardiac and Vascular Institute provides state-of-the-art minimally-invasive therapies for a wide variety of disorders. Dr. Donald Ponec serves as medical director; Dr. Richard Saxon is the director of research; and Dr. Justin Gooding directs the venous treatment center. Regents Imaging and Regents MRI were awarded a three-year term of accreditation in MRI by the American College of Radiology.

The ACR awards accreditation to facilities for the achievement of high practice standards after a peer-review evaluation of the practice. Evaluations are conducted by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field. They assess the qualifications of the personnel and the adequacy of facility equipment. The surveyors report their findings to the ACR's Committee on Accreditation, which subsequently provides the practice with a comprehensive report.

The ACR is a national organization serving more than 32.000 diagnostic-interventional radiologists, radiation oncologists, and nuclear medicine and medical physicists with programs focusing on the practice of medical imaging and radiation oncology and the delivery of comprehensive health care services.
